Hootsuite and Buffer are two of the best-known social media tools, but they are built for different buyers. Here is how they compare on price, features and fit, using each vendor's public pricing.

Buffer charges per channel, which keeps the entry cost very low: a free plan for up to three channels, then about $5 a month per channel on Essentials and $10 on Team. The cost rises as you add channels, so a business with six channels pays six times the per-channel price. Hootsuite prices per user and plan, starting from about $99 a month for Standard with 10 accounts, and rising for Professional and Advanced. It has no free plan, only a 14-day trial with limits on daily posts.
Both tools are mainly schedulers: you still create most of the content. Socialknocks is an AI social media manager that plans, writes and publishes in your brand voice, replies to Instagram, Facebook and Threads DMs and comments, and includes an online store builder and digital business card. It has a free plan, then Startup $49, SMB $79, Agency $399 and Company $499 per month. See the detailed comparisons: Hootsuite alternative and Buffer alternative.
